A GE Revolution EVO CT Scanner like this one is on order for PRGH.

Patients at Powell River General Hospital will soon be receiving their first big dividend from the community’s investment in the hospital’s original CT Scanner — a new, up-to-date model is expected to arrive in February, this one supplied by Vancouver Coastal Health.

cart helps save children’s lives

Broselow Cart helps doctors act quickly when a child is in distress.

The Broselow Cart is a medical tool chest on wheels, colour-coded to help doctors find and administer the most appropriately sized equipment or medication for children in emergency situations. The Foundation purchased one for the Powell River Hospital last year.

Your Foundation welcomed two new members this year -- chiropractor Jeremy Buhay and realtor Meaghan Westie. They join members Mike Chisholm (President), Rod Tysdal (Vice President), John Catcher (Treasurer), Richard Furness (Secretary), Bob Astrope, Ken Dickson, Dave Harper, Shirley Koleszar, Bill Maitland, Dal Matterson, Ken Needham, Michael Stewart, Ashok Varma, Karen Whyard, and Margaret Brittain, office clerk.

Kevin David Caul
April 6, 1951 – January 3, 2017
Members of the Powell River Hospital Foundation are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of a close friend not only of the Foundation, but to many members of our community whom he helped over the years.
Kevin worked closely with the Foundation and saw great improvements over the years to the Imaging Department in our Hospital,
most notably a new CAT Scan and, more recently, new ultrasound machines. These improvements allowed many patients to remain in Powell River for timely medical treatments.
Kevin worked in the Hospital for over 35 years, from 1981 to 2017.
We honour both his dedication and friendship to our community.
Thank you, Kevin. We miss you.
